skin care

1. Normal Skin
A normal skin is skin that appears to be functioning normally with healthy complexion. It is usually elastic, vibrant and free of blemishes. It is neither too dry nor too oily but requires extensive treatment.

2. Dry Skin
Dry skin is caused by a lack of natural oil or moisture. It will feel flakey and tight and can lead to sallow tone, wrinkles, irritation, and premature aging. The skin may become dry due to the sun, wind, harsh soap, poor diet, aging, lack of fluid intake, and internal/external medication.

3. Mature or Aging Skin
Mature or aging skin is usually loose, wrinkled and lined. Treatment will help slow down the aging process and help diminish surface lines.

4. Oily skin
Oily has an overabundance of sebum, and usually looks greasy, coarse, and shiny. Oily skin has enlarged pores, and tends to break into acne. Our treatments help regulate the production of sebum, and clear blemishes.

5. Acne Skin
Acne skin has the same characteristics as oily skin and is especially common during adolescence. It is prevalent in the face, shoulders and back. The first signs of acne are usually seen during puberty when there is an increase in hormone production, which stimulates the sebaceous (oil) glands. The over production of oils leads to blackheads, which in turn can develop into pimples and acne. Not everyone with blackheads will develop acne, but everyone with acne has blackheads.

6. Dehydrated Skin
Dehydrated skin may have a sufficient amount of oil but still feels dry and flakey due to a lack of moisture in the skin. Dehydrated skin is prone to fine lines and wrinkles. It will appear thin and may appear fine in texture but is actually coarse. Dehydration may be present in all skin types.

7. Couperose skin
Couperose skin is characterized by the broken capillaries that can be seen beneath the surface of the skin. These small, red vessels are usually more prominent around the nose, cheeks, and chin. Extreme heat or cold on the face, excessive alcoholic consumption and spicy foods affect the blood vessels causing the redness to appear.

8. Rosacea Skin
The nose and cheeks are most frequently affected in Rosacea Skin. The face will have a flushed appearance, and if neglected, it will often result in chronic red itchy and hypersensitive skin. It is often referred to as Acne Rosacea but should not be confused with acne. Rosacea does not usually appear before the age of 35. It can be aggregated by the consumption of alcohol and spicy foods.
